We have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join our Fletchers, Engineering Team.

The Multi Skilled Engineer will be responsible for working as an active part of our cross-functional planned maintenance team. They will have a Mechanical Bias and be responsible for providing an efficient and proactive service to the factory. They will work within our Engineering department and would have a thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work with a proven track record of fault finding. To be successful in this role, they will also have good communication skills and actively participate within the continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce site waste.

 

This is a fast paced role, where the successful candidate will have excellent mechanical and electrical engineering skills with strong organizational skills and be able to successfully function our site CMMS system. Alongside this, they will be able to mentor and coach other engineers and production operators.

 

This role is an onsite role within our Sheffield location at Fletchers Bakery.

This is what you’ll actually do!

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of site breakdowns and ensuring a quick diagnosis with corrective action. You’ll ensure that the correct Health and Safety and Hygiene standards are followed at all times, whilst adhering to good working practices throughout. As a team, you will make sure that the planned maintenance is completed to a strict schedule whilst always looking for improvements to ensure the reliability of the equipment and supporting the sites efficiency targets. We are looking for a candidate with a Mechanical Bias however; it is desirable that they will also be comfortable and competent in Electrical Bias work.

 

This role provides opportunity for learning and development and they would take an active role in project developments. With strong attention to detail, they will be able to diagnose and fault find on both the newest level of equipment as well as the oldest, working both as a team and cross functionally.

 

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the wider Engineering team as well as the Operations, Hygiene, Technical and NPD departments.

 

Ideally this is you!

  • Be a Time Served Apprentice or have an NVQ Level 3 equivalent
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Excellent Attention to detail
  • Have previous experience in fault finding and making changes to a PLC
  • Completed IPATH training
  • Have the skills to be able to mentor and coach other Engineers
  • General PC skills

 

The desired candidate would also have knowledge and experience within:

  • Machinery laithe/ miller capabilities
  • Welding experience MIG/ TIG
  • Previous Food Manufacturing Experience
