Are you ready to play a pivotal role in our company's success? We're seeking a skilled Materials Manager to join our dynamic team and oversee the efficient planning of all Raw Materials and Packaging across our Southern Cluster's three sites.

As the Materials Manager, you'll lead our Southern Material Planning team to ensure smooth operations on a day-to-day basis. Your responsibilities will include managing costs, maximizing service levels, and maintaining an uninterrupted flow of materials to our operational sites, enabling seamless production as per schedule.

 

To be successful in this role, they need to have worked in a similar management material management position within a FMCG or Manufacturing environment with end to end Supply-Chain experience. They will excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and challenge effectively. They will have the experience to influence at all levels while working collaboratively to deliver the strategy along with experience of managing and leading teams.

This role sits as part of the 3<sup>rd</sup> pillar of the Supply Chain Group Structure of which covers the Customer Demand and Forecasting, Logistics/Distribution and Warehousing, Supply Planning and under pinned by a Sustainability Pillar.

 

This role is divisional based with responsibility across numerous production sites therefore travel will be required across multiple sites & locations.

This is what you’ll actually do!

  • Oversee all aspects of Material Planning and weekly requirements for production across our Southern facilities
  • Identify optimal storage solutions and bulk purchasing opportunities to minimize costs and enhance efficiencies
  • Ensure timely and complete material availability to meet daily schedules for each site
  • Lead material Supply for Seasonal promotions and minimise waste.
  • Coordinate the delist process for raw materials and packaging within the cluster
  • Conduct local on-hold meetings and monthly reviews of Slow Moving and Obsolete (SLOBs)
  • Manage personnel matters including succession planning, disciplinary issues, and regular team member reviews
  • Lead and motivate the Cluster Material Planning team to achieve objectives
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and procurement to address supply gaps and delays
  • Work in tandem with NPD teams on product launches to ensure material availability
